Vice president Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has left Ghana for Iran on a state visit.
Dr Bawumia will, during his visit, attend the inauguration of Dr Hassan Rouhani as president for a second term, and also explore areas for further cooperation between the two countries.
The vice president was accompanied by a number of Ministers and government officials including Mustapha Hamid, Minister for Information; Ibrahim Mohammed Awal, Minister for Business Development; Boniface Abubakar Siddique, Minister for Zongo Development; and Mohammed Habib Tijani, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs.
The Vice President and his team are expected to return home on August 7.
