Member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Communications Team, Prof. Benedicta Yayra Fosu-Mensah, has asserted that no amount of political propaganda will secure victory for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2028 general elections, insisting that Ghanaians are already witnessing improvements in their economic conditions.
Speaking in an interview with Lily Mohammed on GHOne TV’s GHToday on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, she argued that although salary increments have remained below 10 percent, the real value of incomes has improved.
According to her, “Even if salaries were not increased, the value has improved. What you used to buy at 100 cedis, today you might probably be buying at 80 cedis, so you’ve saved 20 cedis. That 20 cedis is the value we are talking about.”
She maintained that the purchasing power of Ghanaians has strengthened compared to previous years, stating, “The value of everyone’s income has improved compared to 2023 and 2024.”
Prof. Fosu-Mensah dismissed claims that the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) has misled citizens, stressing that the party is fulfilling its promises.
“I don’t think NDC have deceived Ghanaians. NDC is delivering on its promise. They promised to fix the economy; he’s done that. He promised that he will give roads; he’s on the path of doing that. He promised that he would make life better for us, and today we are all better off than we were in 2022 and 2023,” she stated.

She further suggested that the NPP’s chances in 2028 remain bleak regardless of its leadership choice, adding that the party’s direction remains unchanged.
“As I said, no propaganda will win you any votes come 2028,” she emphasised.
