CIMG President Urges Marketers to Embrace AI as a Transformative Force

Dr. Daniel Kasser-Tee, President of the Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana (CIMG), has urged marketers across the country to embrace Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a transformative force in the marketing industry.

Speaking at the 35th Annual CIMG Awards over the weekend, Dr. Kasser-Tee emphasized AI’s crucial role in reshaping strategies, enhancing capabilities, and unlocking new potentials in today’s digital age.

“AI is revolutionizing the way we perceive, interact with, and influence our markets. It is reshaping our strategies, enhancing our capabilities, and unlocking new potentials that were once beyond our imagination,” he stated.

Dr. Kasser-Tee highlighted the importance of recognizing AI not as a fleeting trend but as a significant paradigm shift. “As marketers, and with all the business leaders here, let us agree that we are facing this all-important transformation. The integration of AI into our profession is not merely a trend; it demands our active engagement and strategic foresight,” he further urged.

Despite the vast opportunities AI presents, Dr. Kasser-Tee also called attention to the ethical implications of AI adoption. “Notwithstanding all these opportunities ahead of us, we must realize that with great power comes even greater responsibilities. As we harness the capabilities of AI, we must remain vigilant about the ethical implications and ensure that our practices uphold the highest standards of integrity and transparency. It is our duty to leverage AI not just for profit, but to create value that resonates with our customers and society at large,” he added.

Dr. Kasser-Tee concluded by reminding marketers that while AI is a powerful tool, it remains just that—a tool that needs the human touch to ensure it is utilized effectively, ethically, and responsibly.

The CIMG Awards also recognized and honored distinguished personalities and institutions that have demonstrated marketing excellence over the past year.
