The Coalition of Ashanti Students For Development’s Feed the Vulnerable Project has positively touched at least about one thousand (1000) people struggling to feed their families in the Ashanti region under the Covid-19 partial lockdown.
The financier of the project is Dr Kwabena Duffour, former Bank of Ghana Governor and Finance minister aims for the group to reach all poor people in the region.
The impacted communities include Aboabo Dagomba-line slum community, Manhyia police station, Bomso, Kentenkrono, Ayeduase New site, Tech Ayigya, Kotei among others.
Addressing the media after phase one of the donation, Mahmud Abdul Waliu Kabore, president of the student association said the Coalition of Ashanti Students For Development (CASFoD) took the project’s inspiration from the Manhyia Palace’s COVID 19 humanitarian project which has so far fed over 20,000 vulnerable people in greater Kumasi.
“As an association, we will like to use this opportunity to commend Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, for always having his people at heart from time past particularly in this difficult time as we joined the government of Ghana to fight COVID 19 pandemic spread across the country particularly in Greater Kumasi and Accra. We are feeding you so you can stay hope to avoid contraction and spread of the virus through human contact so please stay at home if you have no serious business to do outside you homes’’ he stressed.
The association expressed appreciation to Dr. Kwabena Duffour, Founder of Holder group of company for his numerous contribution towards the work of the association.
