The Centre for Transformational Leadership in Africa (CTL Africa) has officially launched this year’s leadership summit ‘Live2lead’ which will be simulcast in Ghana from Atlanta.

This year’s edition which is the third CTL Africa is hosting has been themed “developing leaders for today and tomorrow.”

Speaking at the launch, CEO of CTL Africa Samuel Anyim emphasized the need for leadership training across all sectors in the country.

He also called for a national awakening to bring the concept of leadership to the fore front of Ghana’s national discourse and into all levels of our educational curriculum.

He said this year’s theme was to draw attention to the gaping gap in the development of our human capital including “training and retaining where all of us unlearn and relearn the fundamentals of leadership. Our children should be taught these lessons from day one.”

“Exemplary leadership – we have too many examples of failed and corrupt leadership, that our children have little choice but to emulate same. Apprenticeship – our young people need to be afforded the opportunity to learn on the job, to be coached and guided on how to lead,” he said.

Mr Anyim noted that CTL Africa was set up to equip people with the above skills and more and also to bring to them programmes such as ‘live2lead’ to showcase people who have led well.

Highlighting lessons to be learned at this year’s edition, he said “John C. Maxwell will teach on practical ways that leaders can seek out and develop those around them in order to maximize the returns on the investment in their people.”

“Nana Ansah Kwai IV will use his experience as a transformational and influential chief of Adumasa to demonstrate how anyone can lead from anywhere, particularly how traditional leaders can use their positions to help build leaders lead the nation,” he added.

The event which is scheduled to take place on October 11 and simulcast in over 300 sites around the world; including the College of Physicians and Surgeons in Accra.

Live2lead 2019 will have great speakers like John C Maxwell, Rachel Hollis, Marcus Buckingham, Angela Ahrendts, Chris Hogan and Ghana’s, Nana Ansah Kwao IV.
