Finance Minister Dr. Amin Adam over the weekend, took aim at former President John Dramani Mahama, claiming his lack of crisis management experience would plunge Ghana into deeper economic turmoil if elected as President in the December 7th polls.
Speaking at the NPP Bantama Constituency campaign launch after the Bantama Big Walk, Dr. Adam rallied support for the NPP’s presidential candidate, Dr. Mahmood Bawumia, and urged voters to reject the opposition NDC.
Addressing a crowd of enthusiastic party supporters, Dr. Amin Adam predicted improved living conditions for Ghanaians under a Bawumia presidency. “When Dr. Mahmood Bawumia becomes president, all the people of Ghana will feel improved living conditions,” he said. “You will feel it in your lives, you will feel it in your pockets, and you will feel it in your homes.”
The finance minister then turned his focus to the NDC and its flagbearer, John Mahama, accusing the former president of lacking the necessary experience to manage economic crises. “As I speak to you, ladies and gentlemen, the NDC has not seen crisis before. So, John Mahama doesn’t have experience on how to take Ghana out of crisis,” Dr. Adam asserted.
He warned that electing Mahama in the upcoming 2024 elections would result in a worsening economic situation for the country. “If you vote for Tom Mahama, Ghana will sink into crisis after crisis after crisis,” he cautioned, emphasizing that the NDC lacked the expertise to resolve economic challenges.
The campaign launch marked a significant moment for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Bantama constituency, as they gear up for the 2024 general elections. Dr. Adams’ speech was part of a broader effort to boost support for Dr. Bawumia and the NPP, positioning them as the best option to navigate Ghana through its current economic difficulties.
The Bantama Big Walk, which drew hundreds of party faithful, was seen as a show of strength in the Ashanti Region, a key stronghold for the NPP ahead of the December 7th polls.
