The Member of Parliament for Jomoro Constituency in the Western Region, Dorcas Affo-Toffey, has paid a working visit to the Petroleum Hub Development Corporation (PHDC) located within her constituency.
The visit formed part of efforts to encourage and motivate the management and staff of the corporation in their ongoing work toward the development of Ghana’s petroleum and petrochemical sector.
The PHDC was established under the Petroleum Hub Development Corporation Act, 2020 (Act 1053), with the mandate to promote and develop a petroleum and petrochemical hub for the West African subregion and beyond.
The corporation is expected to address the growing demand for petroleum and petrochemical products and services across the continent through research, innovation and the development of modern technologies within the petroleum sector.
The project also seeks to create economic linkages, business opportunities and employment for Ghanaians and other Africans through the development of a comprehensive petroleum value chain.
Located in the Jomoro Municipality within the Western Nzema Traditional Area, the Petroleum Hub project is regarded as one of the major industrial initiatives expected to drive economic transformation in the region.
Speaking after the visit, Madam Affo-Toffey, who also serves as Deputy Minister for Transport, said she engaged with management and staff who are currently undertaking activities relating to the project lands.
“I paid a working visit to the Petroleum Hub Office in my constituency, where I interacted with management and staff diligently undertaking activities relating to the project lands,” she stated.
She commended the staff for their dedication and reaffirmed her commitment to supporting the initiative.

“I commended their commitment and reaffirmed my continued support for this transformational initiative, which holds great promise for economic growth, job creation, and renewed hope for our people,” she added.
The Jomoro MP further expressed optimism about the impact of the project on the constituency and the country as a whole.
“Together, we shall build a more prosperous Jomoro and a stronger Ghana,” she said.
