Former President and 2024 flagbearer also leader of the largest opposition party – National Democratic Congress (NDC) John Dramani Mahama is expected to attend the third annual NDC Lawyers conference.
The conference hosted by Eastern Regional legal team will be held this weekend at Akosombo.
The theme of the conference is “Victory 2024; The Role of NDC Lawyers”.
Other guests of honour expected at the event are Speaker of Parliamentary Rt. Hon. Alban Kingsford Bagbin, National Chairman of NDC Johnson Asiedu Nketah, the General Secretary Hon. Fiifi Kwetey, former EC Chair Hon. Kwadwo Afari Gyan, the MP for Asuogyaman Hon. Thomas Nyarko Ampem amongst a host of other dignitaries.
Lawyer Isaac Minta Larbi , chairman of the Eastern region legal team of the NDC told Starr News that, “all is set for the conference and this year’s conference is billed to be one of the best in the history of the NDC party”.
The official opening ceremony would be performed on Saturday September 1,2023 which Lawyer Isaac Minta Larbi would deliver official welcome address.
Some of the activities lined up includes discussions on the role of the EC in a free and fair elections, elections monitoring and management, election security and legal issues management.
Side attractions include visit to Akwamufie, medical screening, visit to Dodi island, among others.
