The Electoral Commission (EC) has invited political parties to an Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting ahead of the Ayawaso East by-election.
The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, 11th February 2026, at 11:00 am at the EC’s Corporate Head Office.
In the official letter to party General Secretaries, the EC stated that each party is to be represented by only two persons.
The letter was signed by Dr. Bossman Eric Asare, Deputy Chairman, Corporate Services, on behalf of the EC Chairperson.
Meanwhile, the EC has officially set Tuesday, 3rd March 2026, for the Ayawaso East by-election, following the demise of the sitting NDC Member of Parliament, Mahama Naser Toure.
The NDC has held its parliamentary primaries on February 7 2026, which were reportedly marred by allegations of vote buying. The party has since established an investigative committee, led by former MP Inusah Fuseini, to probe the claims.
The EC said the IPAC meeting would provide a platform for political parties to discuss key preparations, polling arrangements, and compliance measures to ensure a smooth and transparent by-election.
