Samuel Nartey George, the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) for Ningo-Prampram, has emerged victorious once again in the 2024 parliamentary elections, securing a third term in office.

According to NDC internal calculations, which place them in a commanding lead, Sam George’s win is a reflection of his hard work and dedication to his constituents.

He garnered 44,934 votes, far surpassing his closest competitor, Michael Tetteh Eku of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), who secured 12,182 votes. Independent candidates Fredrick Forzie and Evans Tetteh Nartey received 275 and 1,404 votes, respectively.

Addressing his supporters, Sam George expressed his gratitude, stating, “The people of Ningo Prampram have good taste, they know what they want, they know what they deserve, they know the kind of representation that I give to them in Parliament. This has always been about the margin. It has always been about making sure that we established a good lead for John Mahama so that we could contribute to making John Mahama the next President of Ghana.”

Sam George further emphasised the importance of Mahama’s victory, stating that it would enable him to carry out his “Operation Recover All Boots,” aiming to reclaim stolen funds and curb corruption in the current government.

He also expressed his commitment to ensuring that the policies of a Mahama government benefit the people of Ningo-Prampram.

In the presidential race, Ningo-Prampram overwhelmingly supported John Mahama, who secured 47,254 votes out of 59,418 total votes cast, while Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of the NPP received 9,988 votes.

Sam George’s re-election is seen as a significant victory for the people of Ningo-Prampram, reaffirming their trust in his leadership. His victory is also seen as a strong signal of the constituency’s support for Mahama and the NDC.

While the official results from the Electoral Commission are still pending, the victory for Sam George is a testament to his continuous advocacy for development in the constituency, as well as his strong relationship with his constituents.

Looking ahead, Sam George expressed confidence that, under his leadership and with John Mahama as President, the constituency will see major development in the next four years
