Empire FM and Radio 360 have partnered the Western Regional Minister, Joseph Nelson, for the second edition of the “Walk with the Minister” health walk, an initiative aimed at promoting healthy living across the Western Region.
The event, led by the Regional Minister with active participation from the two media houses, brought together hundreds of residents in a collective effort to encourage regular physical activity, particularly during the festive season when busy schedules, social events, and indulgent lifestyles often take precedence.

Through the partnership, Empire FM and Radio 360 reaffirmed their commitment to public health advocacy, leveraging their platforms to mobilise residents and raise awareness about the importance of fitness and healthy lifestyle choices.
Participants drawn from corporate organisations, security agencies, fitness clubs, and the general public took part in the walk, fostering a sense of unity, networking, and community engagement.
Addressing participants at the end of the walk, Western Regional Minister Joseph Nelson described the second edition of the initiative as a success, noting its growing impact in encouraging residents to prioritise their health.
“This being the second edition of Walk with the Minister has been a successful one. The goal has always been to encourage people in the region to see the need to keep fit, and there is no better way to round off the year than with such a walk,” he stated.

Also speaking at the event, a member of the organising committee and former Black Stars player, Stephen Baidoo, commended the Regional Minister and the partnering media houses for sustaining the initiative and urged participants to make fitness a consistent habit.
“The Regional Minister has done a remarkable job with this initiative, and I also commend Empire FM and Radio 360 for supporting this cause. As part of the organising committee, I am proud to be involved, but I urge everyone not to stop here and to continue keeping fit regularly,” he said.

The collaboration between Empire FM, Radio 360, and the Western Regional Minister once again underscores the role of the media in driving positive social change and promoting the health and well-being of communities.
