The controversial bust of COP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah, the Executive Director of the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO), has been vandalized.
According to reports, the incident occurred around 11:30 AM on January 7, 2025, when unknown persons forcibly entered the EOCO headquarters and destroyed the statue.
Unveiled in October 2024, the bust was commissioned by EOCO staff to honor their executive director. The surrounding area was named “Obatanpa Tiwaa Gardens” in her honor.
However, the monument has been at the center of public debate since its unveiling, with many questioning whether it had been installed with official government approval.
Despite the presence of security officers at the time, they were unable to prevent the destruction of the statue.
