The Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC) has been adjudged the Best Organisation in Compensation and Benefits in the Public Sector at the 2025 edition of the HR Focus Africa Awards.
The prestigious award recognises FWSC’s outstanding efforts in developing and implementing competitive compensation and benefits strategies designed to attract, motivate, and retain top talent within Ghana’s public sector.
Receiving the award, the Chief Executive Officer of FWSC, Dr. George Smith-Graham, commended the Commission’s staff for their dedication and hard work, which he said had been instrumental in achieving this milestone.
“This award is a reflection of the commitment and professionalism of our staff,” Dr. Smith-Graham said. “Together, we have demonstrated that public sector institutions can also lead the way in innovative compensation management.”
The Head of Human Resources at FWSC, Louisa Dadzie, also expressed her excitement about the recognition, describing it as an affirmation of the Commission’s pursuit of excellence.
“This honour belongs to every member of the FWSC team. It affirms that our collective efforts are yielding results and inspires us to do even more,” she stated.
Held on Friday, 12 September 2025, the HR Focus Africa Awards celebrate excellence in Human Resource Management across Ghana and the African continent. The scheme seeks to recognise organisations and individuals who demonstrate best practices in HR management while fostering professional growth and collaboration within the HR community.
This year’s 7th edition featured over 30 award categories, honouring exceptional achievements by both public and private sector organisations across Africa.
The recognition of the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission underscores its pivotal role in promoting equitable, transparent, and sustainable remuneration practices within Ghana’s public service, further solidifying its reputation as a benchmark institution in public sector compensation management.
