A devastating fire has completely destroyed the Ajumako Ocheso Police Station in the Ajumako Enyan Essiam District of Ghana’s Central Region.
Eyewitnesses reported seeing thick smoke and flames during daylight hours, with the blaze allegedly sparked by a power outage.
Locals rushed to the scene but were unable to contain the fire as it quickly consumed the building.

Firefighters, led by District Fire Officer DO2 Kingsley Yeboah, battled the intense blaze for approximately three hours before bringing it under control.
Fortunately, all on-duty officers evacuated safely, and no casualties or injuries were reported. However, personal belongings inside the station were lost.

In an interview with Starr FM, DO2 Yeboah suggested that a “light off” power surge may have triggered the fire, noting that investigations by the fire service and police are ongoing.
He emphasized the importance of having fire extinguishers readily available in public institutions for early response.
Police officials from the Ajumako Enyan Essiam District and the Central Region Command visited the scene but have not yet released their findings.

Authorities have described the building as irreparable and are calling for the construction of a new station to restore police operations in the area.
