A fire has broken out at the Accra Central Police Barracks, prompting a swift response from emergency services on Tuesday, June 3, 2026.
The Ghana National Fire Service deployed personnel to the scene to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading further within the facility.
The Ghana Police Service confirmed that the Inspector-General of Police, Christian Tetteh Yohuno, together with members of the Police Management Board and the Accra Regional Police Commander, visited the site to assess the situation and coordinate response efforts.

Authorities say no casualties have been recorded so far, while the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Police further disclosed that a suspect is currently in custody and assisting investigators as they work to determine what triggered the incident.
