Foreign Ministry donates educational materials to four schools

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, as part of its social services, has donated several educational materials to three basic schools and one senior high school. The beneficiary schools are Abeka Motorway Basic School, Chantan M/A Experimental Basic School, Anyaa M/A Basic School and Odorgonno Senior High School.

The items donated include pens, pencils, exercise books, boxes of A4 papers, mathematical sets, copies of the Oxford dictionary, text books, English and Maths books, note books and folders. The others are crayons, coloured pencils, markers, highlight pens and footballs. The two Deputy Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Charles Owiredu and Mohammed Habib Tijani, on behalf of the Minister, presented the items to the four selected schools.

Charles Owierdu presented the items to Abeka Motorway Basic School and Chantan M/A Experimental Basic School at a joint ceremony and also to St Justin Anglican Primary and JHS, Ablekuma in the Anyaa Sowutuom Constituency. Mohammed Habib Tijani presented the items of Anyaa M/A Basic School and Odorgonno Senior High School to the respective authorities of the two schools at their premises.

During the presentation Owiredu, stated that the Foreign Ministry believes that it has to augment government’s efforts aimed at transforming the country’s educational system. This the Deputy Minister said, will go a long way to make teaching and learning in the classroom much easier.

Headmaster at the Abeka Motorway Basic School, John Addo Baah and Headmistress at Chantan M/A Experimental Basic School, Mrs. Evelyn Barbara Adjei, were full of thanks to the Ministry for their kind gesture. T

hey pledged to use the items judiciously for the benefit of the pupils and students for whom the Ministry decided to acquire and present the items.
