G.N.S Foundation, a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), has donated 21 boxes of laboratory consumables to the Korle Bu Sickle Cell Clinic at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.
The Executive Director of the Foundation, Sandy Amponsah Ayivor, said their charity is dedicated to all and very diverse and unique thus setting it apart from other typical charitable organizations.
She added that the foundation contacted the Ghana Institute of Clinical Genetics for the clinic’s needs and has provided the items that included syringes – 30 ml and 50 ml – cotton wool, gloves, malaria test kits, stitches, RDT test tubes and kits and many others.

She noted that the foundation’s name which is a combination of her sister’s name, Gibeleen and hers (Sandy) GNS, has worked for many years since 2013 until the organization gained accreditation in early 2016.
The Specialist Hematologist at the Korle Bu Sickle Cell Clinic, Dr Eugenia Vicky Quartey Asare receiving the items on behalf of the Director said they are very happy for the donation and called on other individuals and groups to follow suit.
Dr Eugenia Vicky Quartey Asare further advised Ghanaians that are diagnosed with Sickle cell to seek medical treatment early because many infants are saved currently compared to the past.
The G.N.S foundation specializes in Sickle cell management and associated haematological diseases, Orphanages and Disability assistance, Youth and Women (Kayayo Antenatal) support as well as empowerment.
