With an unwavering commitment to elevating literacy rates and enhancing educational opportunities in Ghana, the Girls Education Initiative of Ghana (GEIG) in collaboration with X-Fellows have launched “Project Dream”.

The Project Dream initiative aims to provide educational scholarships to underprivileged children across Ghana, focusing on those from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, particularly in areas with high school dropout rates.

This pioneering initiative is a support program for underprivileged students who will be inducted into the fellowship of the program and be expected to give back to their communities in the future, through their own selected initiatives.

Statistics from the Ghana Statistical Service reveal an average literacy rate of 69.8%, highlighting a significant need for increased educational support.

“Project Dream” seeks to address this by not only sponsoring school fees but also equipping students with essential learning materials.

Since its launch in 2014, the team at Girls Education Initiative of Ghana has worked tirelessly to promote inclusion and removal of barriers that continue to hinder equal and equitable access to education particularly among children

“We are fortunate to have volunteers and staff from all walks of life who bring their unique expertise and resources into everything we do. This is what enables us to achieve our goals year after year,” the founder of GEIG; Ms. Elizabeth Patterson recounted,

Commenting on the partnership Ms Patterson indicated, “Our partnership with X-Fellows to launch this initiative aligns with our mission and will enable us to reach and impact more girls and help them achieve their dreams.”

The launch will be supported by webinars, digital campaigns, and partnership events with key stakeholders, including local NGOs and community leaders to create awareness and raise funds.

The initiative is set to change lives by offering children the tools to unlock their full potential, thus fostering social and economic development within their communities.

Beneficiaries will be selected after a screening process and those who qualify will be offered full scholarships for their entire tertiary education.

According to the Founder of X-Fellows, “Sponsoring a child’s education is a transformative act of generosity that breaks the cycle of poverty, fosters personal growth, and promotes social and economic development. It creates meaningful connections and relationships while offering children the opportunity to unlock their full potential and build brighter futures for themselves and their communities. We are delighted to partner with GEIG to bring this opportunity to underprivileged girls in Ghana.

For persons who are passionate about helping to turn the tide against educational disparity in Ghana. information about joining or donating to ‘Project Dream’ has been provided at https://www.girlsedgh.org/

GEIG

The Girls Education Initiative Ghana (GEIG) is dedicated to fostering educational opportunities and societal advancement through impactful projects and partnerships across Ghana.

X-Fellows

X-Fellows was founded by an entrepreneur who is a beneficiary of a fellowship program that has helped in the growth and scaling of his career and business.

The fund was set up to give back to society and the community through specific educational initiatives targeting disadvantaged or vulnerable groups such as brilliant but needy female students.

The fund was also set up in memory of the Founder’s father, who was very passionate about education for underprivileged children in Ghana.
