The Government of Ghana has condemned what it described as an “unprovoked Israeli attack” on the State of Qatar, which has caused casualties, loss of lives, and destruction of property.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, the government expressed grave concern, stressing that the airstrikes represent a violation of international law and an affront to Qatar’s sovereignty.
“The Government of the Republic of Ghana condemns the attack in view of the fact that the airstrikes constitute a clear violation of international law and an affront to the sovereignty of the State of Qatar. This attack undermines the ongoing pursuit of peace between the States of Palestine and Israel,” the statement read.
President John Dramani Mahama, on behalf of the government and people of Ghana, extended solidarity to the Emir of Qatar, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and the Qatari people in “these difficult times.”
Ghana also commended Qatar for its “tireless and impressive commitment” to resolving the longstanding Israeli–Palestinian conflict, urging that the latest incident should not derail its diplomatic efforts toward peace.
The statement concluded with a renewed call for restraint and adherence to international law to safeguard peace and stability in the region.
