Former President Akufo-Addo’s Legal Counsel, Kow Abaka Essuman, has said that Former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia possesses the experience and vision Ghana needs to become good again.
Speaking on Starr Chat with Bola Ray on Starr 103.5 FM on Thursday, October 9, 2025, Mr. Essuman praised the Vice President’s expertise in economics and digitalisation, describing him as an “excellent economist” with the right background to address the country’s current challenges.
“NPP is blessed. The candidates we have are all accomplished people. If you look at Bawumia – excellent economist. I have worked with him. His digitalisation agenda… In fact, if Bawumia had been President of Ghana right now, if he had won the election, I think Ghana would have been good because his background and his experience are exactly what the country needs at this particular moment in time,” he said.

Mr. Essuman commended the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for producing capable leaders, but maintained that Dr. Bawumia’s innovative leadership style and strong digitalisation agenda position him uniquely to drive national transformation.
He added that Dr. Bawumia’s approach to governance demonstrates practical solutions that could revitalise the economy and improve public systems if given the mandate to lead.
