Ghana to host Africa’s Political, Business leaders at Maiden Africa Prosperity Dialogues

Ghana, the host country of the AfCFTA Secretariat, will organise the inaugural Leaders’ meeting of the Africa Prosperity Dialogues series from January 26 to January 28 of 2023.

The debate series, an initiative of the Africa Prosperity Network (APN), is anticipated to convene other thought leaders on Africa along with African political and commercial leaders.

The discussions will not only focus on the crucial single-market initiative for the continent, but they will also establish an annual forum for the leaders of the region to lead the collaborative execution of the crucial African Continental Free Trade Agreement.

The AfCFTA’s aims must be shared by all parties from the outset, especially by enterprises, large and small, if the trade agreement is to succeed. This is why the Africa Prosperity Dialogues were established.

Recent global geopolitical unrest has shown Africa’s excessive reliance on exports of natural resources and the global supply chain. Additionally, it has shown how crucial it is for Africa to truly build up its ability for increased intra-African reliance and insulate itself from exogenous shocks of uncontrollable events.

Recent global geopolitical unrest has shown Africa’s excessive reliance on exports of natural resources and the global supply chain. Additionally, it has shown how crucial it is for Africa to truly build up its ability for increased intra-African reliance and insulate herself from exogenous shocks of uncontrollable events.

Dubbed the “Kwahu Summit” because the concept was developed at the Rock City Hotel in the Kwahu Mountains of eastern Ghana, the dialogue series will also help bring into sharp focus the continent’s critical challenges, outline its industrialisation priorities, and aggressively advance the commercial and infrastructural interventions required to achieve the goal of deepening intercontinental trade.

There will be two sections to the conversations. The Company and Policy Leaders’ Dialogue, a retreat for business executives and associations, senior public figures, thought leaders, technocrats, and the Association of Africa Investment Promotion Agencies, will be included at the first event.

On January 26 and 27, this event will be held at the picturesque Safari Valley Resort in Aburi, which is located on the rocky Akuapem Ridge.

On Saturday, January 28, 2023, President Akufo-Addo will host the second session of the dialogues. Several other heads of state from the eight regional blocs on the African continent will join President Akufo-Addo.

The presidents of Benin, Côte d’Ivoire, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Egypt, Guinea-Bissau, Kenya, Niger, Nigeria, the Republic of the Congo, Rwanda, Senegal, and South Africa are among the leaders who have been invited.

Successful business figures from Africa and beyond, including manufacturers, economists, bankers, and successful entrepreneurs, have also confirmed their presence.
