Black Stars midfielder, Thomas Partey has signed a three-year contract extension with Atletico Madrid until 2022.
Partey, 23, joined Atletico as a youth player in 2011 and following loan spells with Mallorca and Almeria the defensive midfielder has broken into Diego Simeone’s squad over the past two seasons.
Following the announcement, Partey said: “I am very happy with my new contract and grateful for the faith shown in me.
“I have always been very fond of this club and I want to keep on developing at Atletico. I will give everything for this club.”
Partey, who has made 31 appearances for Atletico in total, was also a member of the Ghana squad that finished fourth at this year’s African Nations Cup.
