A government delegation led by Chief of Staff Julius Debrah was at the Air Force Base in Accra on Wednesday night to receive the remains of the eight individuals who perished in the tragic military helicopter crash earlier that day in Adansi in the Ashanti Region.
The Ghana Air Force aircraft transporting the remains touched down at exactly 9:30 p.m., where the caskets were solemnly received amid military protocol and the presence of high-ranking government, military, and party officials.
Among those present were the Service Commanders; General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Fifi Fiavi Kwetey; Minister of State and Government Spokesperson, Felix Kwakye Ofosu; Minister for Education, Haruna Iddrisu; Presidential Staffer Joyce Bawa Mogtari; Deputy Chief of Staff for Administration, Nana Oye Bampoe Addo; and Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations, Stanislav Xoese Dogbe.

A short but solemn military ceremony was held to honour the departed. Prayers were offered, and full military rites observed before the remains were respectfully transferred into hearses and conveyed to the morgue.
The victims of the crash included Minister for Defence Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, Minister for Environment Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator Alhaji Muniru Mohammed, and other top officials and crew members.

The government has declared a three-day national mourning period, with all national flags ordered to fly at half-mast until further notice.
