Country Managing Partner of Deloitte Ghana, Daniel Kwadwo Owusu, has called on the government to drastically reduce the importation of rice, maize, poultry, and other commodities, describing the move as vital for Ghana’s economic reset and future resilience.

Speaking at the launch of the 9th Ghana CEOs Summit and Expo, Mr. Owusu highlighted that Ghana possesses the natural capacity to produce these staples locally. He urged the government to act decisively to boost domestic production, create jobs, and strengthen economic self-reliance.

“The feed Ghana, the feed industry programs are important because it will not only feed the nation but also serve as raw materials for manufacturing industries leading to job creation. We must be deliberate to cut down on Importation of certain products” Mr. Owusu said.

Addressing the launch, Ernest De-Graft Egyir, Founding CEO of the Chief Executives (CEO) Network Ghana, underscored the crucial role of innovative leadership in steering Ghana through current global and local challenges.

He emphasized that now more than ever, bold, and visionary leadership is needed to navigate uncertainties and drive sustainable economic growth.

Delivering the keynote address, Executive Chairman of KGL Group, Alex Dadey, highlighted that technological transformation remains indispensable for Ghana’s economic future. He called for increased investment in digital infrastructure and capacity building to enhance Ghana’s competitiveness on the global stage.
