The President and Founder of the Afro-Arab group, Ambassador, Alhaji Salamu Amadu has called on the government to provide a suitable economic environment that will benefit the teeming Ghanaian youth who are unemployed.
Speaking on International Youth Day in an interview on Morning Starr with Lantam Papanko on Monday, August 12, 2024, Alhaji Salamu Amadu stated that no matter the policy the government brings across, if the economy is not favorable it will not be beneficial to the youth.
“Our leaders are bringing amazing policies, but where I stand, I don’t want to go into politics or that, but where I stand, the economy must be very strong for any policy to work. It’s just like people having ideas, but it’s not easy to make the ideas materialize. So the fundamentals of every policy is the economy.
“If the economy is not good, those policies cannot work. That is what we are thinking of. This 2024 election, the youth are going to come out there based on the economy”, Alhaji Salamu Amadu stated.
He continued: “We have a lot of policies. They are good, but at the end of the day, the sustainability of those policies is on the economy. And if the economy is not good, then I think we are not going anywhere.”
The Afro-Arab group founder also stated that the youth are making an impact and should be celebrated.
“There are a lot of young people who are doing fantastic well, and then we should not be only concentrating about our problems. We need to celebrate them, for them to be motivated to do more, and other people will also look up to them.
“I can tell you from entrepreneurship, entertainment, and all sectors of life, the youth in this country are doing amazingly well”.
