The Cybersecurity Authority has arrested 32 Nigerian nationals for operating a romance scam syndicate in Kasoa Tuba, Central Region, Ghana.
The arrests were made in the early hours of Saturday, December 13, 2025, as part of intensified efforts to curb cybercrime in the country.
Communication and Digital Technology Minister, Samuel Nettey George, confirmed the operation, praising the Cybersecurity Authority for the successful crackdown.
“Kudos to the team at the Cybersecurity Authority Ghana once again. This dawn, another massive blow has been struck against cybercrime in Ghana. A joint operation between the Authority and National Security resulted in the arrest of 32 Nigerians operating a romance scam syndicate in Kasoa Tuba,” he said.
The Minister emphasised that the government remains committed to making Ghana an unattractive destination for cybercriminals.
“We will continue to support the Authority in its efforts to do more as we make Ghana an unattractive destination for cybercrimes. For God and Country,” he added.
The Cybersecurity Authority and other security agencies continue investigations to identify all persons involved and prevent further cybercriminal activities.
