Ken Agyapong camp warns Bawumia camp over KOKA’s “unprovoked attacks”

The campaign team of Ken Ohene Agyapong has warned the camp of former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, following what it describes as “vicious and unprovoked attacks” from a known surrogate of the Dr. Bawumia.

In a statement dated Thursday, October 2, 2025, and signed by Communications Director Kwaku Amah-Darteh, the campaign team cautioned that it “will not stand idly by while surrogates of Dr. Bawumia unleash personal attacks on Hon. Ken Ohene Agyapong.”

The statement cited a video aired on Wontumi Television in which Kwaku Osei Korankye Asiedu, popularly called “KOKA” and described as a loyalist of Dr. Bawumia, allegedly made disparaging comments against Mr. Agyapong.

According to the team, such conduct undermines attempts to portray Dr. Bawumia as a “peaceful person,” arguing that silence from his camp amounts to endorsement of “intimidation, bullying and abusive rhetoric.”

“Let there be no ambiguity: the Ken Ohene Agyapong Camp knows too much to allow reckless defamation to go unanswered,” the statement warned.

“We respectfully, but firmly advise Dr. Bawumia’s camp to call their surrogates to order. If they choose instead to drag this campaign into the gutter of personal vilification, they will awaken consequences they will come to regret.”

While affirming its commitment to peace and unity within the New Patriotic Party, the Agyapong team stressed that “peace must not be mistaken for weakness and unity must not be confused with cowardice.”

The team reiterated its focus on “defending truth, protecting integrity and speaking for the grassroots of our great party.”
