Future of Ghana depends on job creation, not vote buying – Ken Agyapong

Ken Agyapong urges delegates to choose leadership that builds jobs, not buys votes.

New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential aspirant, Ken Ohene Agyapong, has made a passionate appeal to party delegates, urging them to prioritize the long-term future of their families and the country when choosing the next Flagbearer.

Speaking during his Unity Tour in the Eastern Region, Ken Ohene Agyapong emphasized that true leadership is measured by one’s ability to create opportunities for the next generation not by the amount of money shared on election day.

“Every parent wants a leader who can help their children secure jobs and build a successful future,” he said. “When you grow old, it is those same children who will take care of you.”

Ken Ohene Agyapong criticized aspirants who only appear during internal elections with money to buy votes, rather than contributing meaningfully to the party’s growth and national development.

“Some people hide their money and never support the party when we need help. Yet, today they claim to be wealthy and want to buy your votes,” he noted. “Ask yourselves: the last time money was shared during primaries, do you still have that money today?”

Ken Ohene Agyapong reflected on the personal sacrifices he has made for the party, including moments where he faced severe consequences for defending the NPP.

He stressed that if elected Flagbearer, his focus would be job creation through industrialization.

“If Ken Ohene Agyapong had been elected earlier, would your children have been sacked from their jobs? No. I would have been building factories to employ delegates, their children, and Ghanaians,” he said. “I stand for industry. I stand for jobs. I stand for creating a future where every Ghanaian can work with dignity.”

Ken Ohene Agyapong concluded with a powerful message about the dignity of work:

“If you have no job, your future and destiny are at risk. When you have a business or a job, you earn respect in your home and your community.”

His remarks were met with strong support from delegates who expressed appreciation for his directness, candour, and focus on real development.

As the NPP prepares for a crucial Flagbearer election, Agyapong’s message continues to resonate with grassroots members who are calling for a leader committed to economic empowerment and long-term national progress.
