An aide to New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer hopeful, Kennedy Agyapong, Lawyer Kobby Amoah, has listed arrogance of power as one of the major causes of the party’s defeat in the 2024 elections.
Speaking on Kasapa FM’s Morning Show, Ghana Kasa, on Monday, 10th November 2025, the lawyer said the failure of the party’s leadership to check that contributed to the party’s defeat.
“The arrogance of power on behalf of some of our appointees was a major cause of our defeat, even Dr Bawumia has said it…,” he said.
He believes the NPP could have retained power if the level of arrogance has been checked.

Lawyer Amoah was of the opinion that the NPP can succeed in 2028 if the party elects a decisive and bold person to lead the party into the 2028 elections.
He further said that the former lawmaker would be the right person to lead the NPP to victory since he has the ability to bring all persons on board.
“Ken Agyapong is the right person to lead the party…” he said.
