The 3rd Teachers Awards Ceremony has been successfully held in the Jasikan Municipality, recognizing and rewarding hardworking teachers and students whose dedication continues to contribute significantly to the development of education in the Buem Constituency.

The colourful event brought together education stakeholders, traditional authorities, teachers, students, and community members. It was organized to celebrate commitment, professionalism, and excellence within the teaching profession.

The highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of the Overall Best Teacher Award to Madam Abigail Bowman of St. Paul’s Anglican Basic School. She was honoured by the Minister for Sports and Recreation and Member of Parliament for Buem, Hon. Kofi Adams, who presented her with a cash prize of GH¢10,000, alongside a double-decker refrigerator, water dispenser, 32-inch television, and a certificate of excellence in recognition of her outstanding service to education in the Jasikan Municipality.

In all, 22 teachers and students received awards for their exceptional performances and dedication to educational development. Prizes presented included refrigerators, water dispensers, microwaves, and blenders, aimed at motivating both educators and learners to continue striving for excellence.

Addressing the gathering, Hon. Kofi Adams announced enhanced incentives for future editions of the awards scheme, revealing that the overall winner in the next edition will be rewarded with a brand-new car.

The ceremony also recognized academic excellence among students, as certificates were presented to the Best BECE candidates from both the public and private schools. The awardees were Dorgbefu Benedicta and Amoah Harrison Ofosu, respectively.

Awards were also presented to outstanding subject teachers. Best Mathematics Teacher honours went to Goka Francis Ayivi at the Junior High School level and Issah Ismaila at the Senior High School level. Additionally, awards for Best Primary Teacher, Best English Teacher, Best Science Teacher, Best Child Care Teacher, among others, were presented to educators who demonstrated excellence in advancing education in the Buem Constituency.

The 3rd Jasikan Teachers Awards Ceremony once again underscored the municipality’s commitment to improving education, motivating teachers, and promoting academic excellence among students, as stakeholders called for sustained support to further strengthen the education sector.
