President John Dramani Mahama has nominated Dr. Zanetor Agyemang-Rawlings, MP, and Mahama Ayariga, MP, for appointment as Ministers of State, subject to parliamentary approval.
The nominations were contained in a statement issued by the Presidency on Friday, August 7, 2026, in accordance with Article 78(1) of the 1992 Constitution.
Dr. Zanetor Agyemang-Rawlings has been nominated for the Ministry of Environment, Science and Technology, while Mahama Ayariga has been nominated for the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs.
President Mahama has also reassigned two serving ministers to new portfolios.
Hon. Kenneth Gilbert Adjei has been reassigned to the Ministry of Defence, while Ahmed Ibrahim, MP, has been reassigned to the Ministry of Works, Housing and Water Resources.
The Presidency said the nominations have been submitted to Parliament through the Speaker for prior approval, as required by the Constitution.
