President John Mahama has picked Dr. Ishmael Yamson to lead National Economic Dialogue Planning Committee.
In a statement signed by the Special Aide to the President, Felix Ofosu Kwakye disclosed that the committee will be chaired by economist Dr Ishmael Yamson.
Other members of the Committee include Dr K.Y. Amoako, Professor John Gatsi, Mohammed Samara, Nelly Mireku, Anthony Sarpong, and Ernest De-Graft Egyir. The individuals were chosen for their expertise and experience in various sectors crucial to Ghana’s economic landscape.
“The National Economic Dialogue will serve as a vital platform for stakeholders to come together, discuss policy trade-offs, and build consensus on necessary reforms for transforming Ghana into a high-growth, inclusive, and resilient economy,” Mr. Ofosu Kwakye stated.,
The NED is intended to have clear objectives, including communicating the true state of Ghana’s economy to stakeholders and the general populace. Additionally, the dialogue will develop a homegrown fiscal consolidation programme to guide the national budget and highlight key structural reforms essential for resetting the economy.
