President John Dramani Mahama has instructed the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Dr. Dominic Ayine to launch immediate investigations into cases of corruption and financial malfeasance uncovered in the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) report.
This instruction follows the submission of a detailed report from the ORAL committee outlining 2,417 suspected corruption complaints from the public to the President.
Mahama described the findings as “sober reading,” revealing significant financial leakages that have cost the nation resources meant for education, healthcare, infrastructure, and social development.
“I have promptly handed over the report to the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, and I give him firm instructions to commence immediate investigations into the cases reported in here,” Mahama stated.
ORAL, aimed at recovering misappropriated public funds, is a demonstration of Mahama’s commitment to fighting corruption and strengthening accountability. He assured the public that every recovered resource would be redirected into national development and that mechanisms would be reinforced to prevent future losses.
“To those who stand for integrity, accountability, and the rule of law, I assure you that this government remains your steadfast partner in building a nation where honesty and hard work are rewarded,” he added.
The report’s recommendations, Mahama noted, would be carefully studied, with legal action taken where necessary, “without fear or favour.”
