President John Dramani Mahama will on Wednesday evening address the nation on his 120-day political agenda presented in his manifesto.
The president is expected to tout achievements that have been chalked by his young administration even as he assures his compatriots of proactive steps to address prevailing economic challenges.
In a brief statement disclosing the presidential address, the Minister for Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu said the speech will air at 8:30pm in a live tv and radio broadcast.
“President John Dramani Mahama will account to the nation on his 120 day Social Contract tonight at 8:30pm in a live TV and radio broadcast,” Mr. Kwakye wrote on X.
In a 26-point pledge during the 2024 campaign, then Candidate Mahama of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) promised to “constitute the leanest and most efficient government under the Fourth Republic” and “establish a robust code of conduct” for all his appointees.
He also promised to get rid of some taxes introduced by the Akufo-Addo government which included the infamous e-levy and 10% levy on bet winnings.
So far the president has followed through on the aforementioned pledges.
He is expected to tout these successes in his address.
