President John Dramani Mahama on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, paid a visit to two survivors of the recent Burkina Faso terrorist attack, who are receiving treatment at the 37 Military Hospital in Accra.
The victims were among a group of Ghanaian tomato traders traveling in a truck that was ambushed by armed bandits.

Reports indicate that the assailants singled out men on board, killed several, and set the vehicle on fire.

Accompanied by his Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, President Mahama expressed condolences to the survivors and assured them that the government would cover all medical expenses related to the attack.
Earlier on Wednesday, the President had been on official duties in Takoradi but immediately proceeded to the hospital upon his return to Accra to meet the victims and receive firsthand updates on the tragic incident.

Seven Ghanaians lost their lives in the attack and have been laid to rest, while the survivors have been safely transported home by the Ghana Armed Forces.
All survivors are currently receiving counselling and the necessary medical support, with injured victims continuing treatment.
