President John Mahama has welcomed Zimbabwean President, Emmerson Mnangagwa to Ghana for a three-day State visit.
The state visit which commenced on Wednesday, April 1 will end on Friday, April 3, 2026.
President Mnangagwa arrived at the Jubilee Lounge of the Accra International Airport at about 3pm, where President Mahama received him with full military honours including an inspection of a Guard of Honour mounted by the Ghana Armed Forces and a 21-gun salute.

The two leaders are expected to hold extensive bilateral discussions aimed at strengthening cooperation across key sectors such as trade, tourism, health, sanitation, agriculture, governance and job creation.
EIB Network’s Presidential Affairs Correspondent, Abdul-Hanan Adam reported that President Mahama will host a State Banquet on Friday evening at the Kempinski Hotel in honour of his Zimbabwean counterpart, celebrating the enduring ties between Ghana and Zimbabwe.

A major highlight of the visit will be bilateral talks at the Peduase Lodge on Thursday, April 2, 2026 which will begin with a private tete-a-tete between the two heads of states.
This will be followed by delegation-level engagements and the signing and exchange of Memoranda of Understanding in areas of mutual interest.

During his stay, President Mnangagwa will also tour the Sweden Ghana Medical Centre (SGMC) and the Accra Compost and Recycling Plant at Adjen Kotoku, where he will be briefed on Ghana’s advancements in healthcare and waste management.

He is further expected to visit the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park to lay a wreath at the tomb of Ghana’s founding father.
President Mnangagwa will depart Ghana on Friday, April 3, with full departure honours at the Jubilee Lounge.
