Manchester City has officially completed the signing of Ghanaian forward Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth in a deal worth £64 million.
The 26-year-old has signed a five-and-a-half-year contract with the reigning champions, keeping him at the Etihad Stadium until 2031.
Semenyo’s impressive form this season, scoring 10 Premier League goals and providing three assists, made him a valuable addition to Pep Guardiola’s squad.
He joins City after scoring a dramatic 95th-minute winner in his final game for Bournemouth against Tottenham Hotspur.
City’s director of football, Hugo Viana, praised Semenyo’s enthusiasm and commitment to the club, stating, “He made it clear to us immediately that it was City he wanted to join. His enthusiasm for this football club has been clear throughout this process.”
Semenyo’s arrival adds depth to City’s attacking lineup, and he is expected to make an immediate impact.
The Ghanaian forward will wear the number 42 shirt, previously worn by Yaya Touré, and is set to make his debut against Exeter City in the FA Cup.
