Tullow Ghana has reiterated it intends to develop additional oil wells progressively and maintain production at the optimum.

Speaking at a media briefing in Takoradi, the managing director of Tullow, Charles Darku, revealed that Tullow intends to develop more wells after the International tribunal for the law of sea ruling in the maritime boundary dispute between Ghana and Ivory Coast next month.

“The TEIN development was meant to develop a total of twenty-four wells. We had dug some wells before the moratorium was issued but the plan will inform as to develop additional wells progressively over the next couple of years and so we are anxious once the ruling comes out later this year; then positive, we should be the ones building up more oil rigs to maintain production”.

He also revealed that a detailed programme of action has been outlined to find a lasting solution to the nagging turret problem on the Floating Production Storage and Offloading Unit (FPSO).
