Former Black Stars assistant coach, Maxwell Konadu, has been named the new head coach of Bibiani GoldStars, signing a two-year contract with the reigning Ghana Premier League champions.
The appointment brings stability to the club, which has been without a substantive head coach since Frimpong Manso was dismissed following a 2-0 home defeat to JS Kabylie in the first leg of their CAF Champions League preliminary round tie at the Accra Sports Stadium.
In Manso’s absence, assistant coach Nana Yaw Amankwah handled the return fixture in Algeria, but GoldStars endured a heavy 5-0 loss, exiting the competition with a 7-0 aggregate defeat.

Konadu’s deal runs until 2027, and he is tasked with leading the team in their title defense while strengthening their performance on the continental stage.
The experienced trainer, who has previously managed Asante Kotoko, Legon Cities, the Black Meteors, and South Africa’s Black Leopards, is expected to take charge of the team when they face Asante Kotoko in a rescheduled Premier League clash on Wednesday, October 8, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
