Under fire Asante Kotoko Coach Maxwell Konadu has backed his side to bounce back from their disappointing defeat to Great Olympics on Thursday.
The Porcupine Warriors were beaten in the re-arranged match week 3 fixture played at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Olympics put on a good showing and could have won by a bigger margin as Kotoko put up a horror showing particularly in the first half.
The Kotoko players put in a tepid effort much to the dismay of their top officials and fans who were watching from near and far.
This culminated in their first loss in a season, having failed to hit expected heights so far. The Olympics defeat has led to calls from some section of the club’s Supporters blaming the coach and calling for his dismissal.
But speaking after the game, Kotoko’s coach Maxwell Konadu gave credit to Great Olympics and promised his side will not relent in their efforts to become better subsequently.
He has backed his team to come back stronger in their subsequent games.
“We have to congratulate Olympics, they played the first half very well. I think better than us. But we came in strongly in the second half trying to equalize,” Maxwell Konadu said.
“We keep working hard, because the season is still young. It’s a marathon league, and anything can happen.
“We can still bounce back, any day,” he assured.
Asante Kotoko’s next League game happens on Sunday against Dreams FC, before facing Al Hilal in the CAF Champions League on December 23.
