The Minority in Parliament has called on the government to release the complete investigation report on the military helicopter crash of August 6, 2025.
The preliminary findings, made public on November 11, indicated that the crash was caused by a sudden loss of altitude and lift due to a downdraft, while the helicopter, flying over high terrain, lacked certain avionic safety enhancements.
In a statement on Wednesday, November 12, Reverend John Ntim Fordjour, Ranking Member of the Committee on Defence and Interior, emphasized that the Minority intends to approach the matter without politicization.
He stressed that full disclosure is necessary to allow the Minority to provide an objective assessment and support the implementation of measures aimed at preventing future incidents.
Rev. Fordjour said, “The Minority Caucus expects in the spirit of transparency and full disclosure, to receive the whole report in order to offer our objective and comprehensive view on the findings; not with the intent to point accusing fingers but with the poise to state our principled position and constructively support the implementation of necessary measures there-in in the best interest of our dear nation-state.”
Rev. Fordjour also called on the government to clearly outline its position and plans regarding the report, noting that the tragedy should serve as a reminder that national security and the safety of Ghanaian citizens must take precedence over partisan interests.
He concluded by extending condolences to the families affected by the crash.
The Minority Caucus reaffirmed its commitment to ensure that the findings of the investigation are fully implemented for the safety and benefit of all Ghanaians.
