MTN MoMo@10: Two winners in Kumasi drive home new Hyundai cars

Two lucky customers in the Ashanti regional capital, Kumasi have driven home brand new Hyundai i10 salon cars in the ongoing MTN MoMo at 10 promotion.

The two, who are ladies, could not hide their joy as they were pronounced winners at the July draw held on Friday.

As part of MTN’s 10 years of mobile money operations in Ghana, the network in June launched the “MTN 10 Thanks” promotion to reward its numerous customers.

Over the course of two months, MTN has given out Hyundai salon cars, smartphones, television sets, cash, MTN branded souvenirs and so much more. To enjoy goodies in the MTN MoMo@10 promotion, subscribers must continue to use their mobile money wallets to transact, gain points and check their points on *120#.

Over 14 million people living in Ghanaian currently access services including money transfer, airtime purchase, investments, pensions, bills payment and many others on the MTN MoMo.

This is largely because it is secure, reliable, convenient, swift and safe, according to businesses and patrons.

MTN MoMo works with more than 20 partner banks, 124,000 agents and 5,000 mobile money vendors across the country.

Speaking to Ultimate Business after the draw, Senior Manager, General Trade Northern Sector, MTN Ghana, Simon Amo underscored their customers were at the heart of such promotions and more.

“We have brought it to the doorstep of the very people because it is important we do it in the ecosystem for each and every one to see that they are relevant in the ecosystem and also to ensure we clear all doubts about how prizes are won in such contest. These are the prize winners for the month of July, August is still pending. Once August ends, then we pull altogether and we do a grand one.”

Touching on how mobile money supports financial inclusion, Mr. Amo explained “I think for the mobile financial inclusion landscape, our share numbers is also what is making the difference. You agree with me, no bank has the number of outlets we have so we take the products closer to the doorstep of the people.”

“We’re expecting to grow the numbers beyond what is happening because if we’re able to celebrate our 10 years with cars, then guess what is going to happen in the 20th anniversary.”

Simon Amo reiterated MTN’s commitment to continuously make the lives and businesses of existing and prospective better.
