Ketu North MP, Eric Edem Agbana, attributes the renewed support for the Black Stars to the encouragement and backing of the current National Democratic Congress (NDC) government.
Addressing Parliament on Tuesday, Agbana emphasized the contributions of President John Mahama and Sports Minister Kofi Adams in inspiring the team ahead of their recent triumphs in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Before the match against Chad, President Mahama met with the Black Stars to offer words of encouragement, while Sports Minister Kofi Adams and other dignitaries also paid a visit to the team.
Ghana achieved consecutive victories, thrashing Chad 5-0 on Friday before securing a 3-0 win over Madagascar on Monday. These results lifted the Black Stars to the top of Group I with 15 points, five clear of second-placed Madagascar.
“Mr. Speaker, prior to our game against Chad, the President himself met the players, he was at their training, the Minister was there with them throughout, and NSA officials have been with them,” Agbana said.
“We can all conclude that because of the encouragement and the unwavering support from the government of the day, today the love is back, and the GFA does not need to embark on a “Love is Back” campaign any longer.
“We saw that as they won 5-0 against Chad and secured a 3-0 victory against Madagascar far away in Morocco yesterday. Indeed, all of us can conclude that the real Black Stars is back. The reset Black Stars is back!”
