Charles Forson, Member of Parliament for Tema Central, has expressed strong criticism of the Attorney-General (AG) and the Special Prosecutor (OSP), arguing that their work has produced little tangible results for Ghana.
His comments come in the wake of efforts to extradite former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta from the United States over the SML scandal.
Speaking on Morning Starr with Naa Dedei Tettey, Mr. Forson said the two offices are more focused on media appearances than delivering accountability:
“The Attorney-General… all that he knows is about the optics within the media space and nothing. You see the tangibility of whatever they do must bear fruits.”
He expressed deep skepticism, saying, “If you tell me that Yoko was up there going to do something, I’ll believe maybe one percent, but the Attorney-General minus 99%… nothing good will come out of the two”.
He added that real accountability should produce measurable outcomes.
The MP’s remarks underline growing public impatience over the high-profile extradition process and the perception that enforcement and prosecution have yet to yield meaningful results.
Meanwhile, the Attorney General, Dr. Dominic Ayine has formally requested the extradition of former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta from the United States.
