Ahead of the polls, the aspirants signed a peace pact, committing themselves and their supporters to a violence-free process and pledging to respect the outcome of the election.
The party has reiterated that the presidential primary is strictly an internal process and has designated the Ghana Police Service as the sole security agency responsible for maintaining law and order throughout the exercise.
According to the NPP, the safety of delegates, officials, and aspirants depends on strict adherence to the security arrangements laid out by the police.
The presidential primaries were approved by the party’s National Executive Committee and National Council and scheduled early to allow sufficient time for campaign consolidation and internal coordination ahead of the 2028 general elections.
