Voting is currently underway in the Weija–Gbawe Constituency, where 1,239 delegates are expected to cast their ballots as the New Patriotic Party (NPP) conducts its presidential primary to elect a flagbearer for the 2028 general elections.
The exercise forms part of the nationwide voting process taking place today, with accredited delegates participating across designated centres in the constituency.

EIB Election Hub reports that the voting process has begun smoothly, with delegates turning out to take part in the internal party contest, which is a crucial step in the NPP’s preparations for the next general elections.
Five aspirants are contesting the primary: Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Kennedy Agyapong, Dr. Bryan Acheampong, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, and Kwabena Agyapong.
Results are expected later today after the close of polls and the collation of ballots from across the country.
