The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has taken disciplinary action against three party members in the Walewale constituency.
The Second Vice Chairman Alhassan Suleman, Financial Secretary Imoro Tonzua Mahamudu, and member Megida Saaka Samusi have been suspended.
The party’s suspension letter to the national chairman stated that the move is due to misconduct and violations of the party’s constitution in accordance with Article 4 Clause 7(1a), (e), (f), and (g) of the party’s constitution.
Other rules violated by the suspended members including their, failure to fulfill their duties as party members, publicly contradicting or undermining party policies, Engaging in behavior that tarnishes the party’s image or exposing it to public mockery, Fostering discord, factionalism, or actions that harm the party’s reputation and integrity.
“I regret to inform you that the following party member and constituency executives are hereby suspended from their duties, effective immediately,” the Regional Chairman stated.
The suspension letter ordered the affected members to cease participating in all party-related political activities pending a final decision on their status. The letter further stated that the party’s Disciplinary Committee will conduct a thorough investigation and review the suspensions, during which time the suspensions will remain in effect.
“This suspension will remain in effect pending further investigation and deliberation by the Disciplinary Committee of the party. You will be notified of any changes to your status as soon as they are available.
“You are directed to hand over all the party property to the constituency chairman,” the letter included.
