Ghanaian gospel musician and visionary of the TAHILLA Experience, Ohemaa Mercy, says a message she received from God in 2012 marked a major turning point in her ministry and set her on a new spiritual path.
Speaking to Austin Woode on Starr FM, Ohemaa Mercy said God told her He was shifting her ministry into another phase, a revelation she says brought back memories of a prophecy made over her life around 1989 by the father of Elder Mireku.
According to her, although she had carried the prophecy for years, she did not initially understand how it would manifest in her ministry.
“I remember somewhere 2012 when God said, ‘I am shifting your ministry into another phase,’” she recalled.
Ohemaa Mercy said she responded by praying into the prophecy and involving some of her sons in seeking God’s direction.
She explained that during their time of prayer, they received a vision of gathering people to worship, with a strong manifestation of God’s presence.
“We went to the mountains, and the Lord kept on giving us the vision of us coming up with a programme, gathering people, to worship. And in the midst of it, I will come dwell with you, and my hand is going to be so strong,” she said.
However, Ohemaa Mercy said she initially misunderstood the vision and thought it was simply about organising a programme where she would perform some of her songs.
The programme was eventually organised and ticketed, but she said God later made it clear to her that the event was only part of the bigger vision.
“Right after the programme, the Lord said, ‘You’ve done it all, but this is not the vision,’” she recounted.
She said she subsequently returned to prayer and continued seeking God’s direction on the next steps for the ministry.
Reflecting on the journey, Ohemaa Mercy said the experience has transformed not only her ministry but also her personal relationship with God.
“For me, I have seen myself grow in the Lord, with the work of God growing in a wonderful way, that I’ve become matured in the Lord. I’ve really known how to walk with God better,” she said.
She added that she has witnessed what she describes as God’s hand working through the atmosphere of worship, with healing and deliverance becoming part of the ministry’s activities.
Ohemaa Mercy said she believes the ministry can achieve greater impact through continued obedience to what she considers God’s direction.
