The Country Director for Herbalife Nutrition, Clarence Amenya, has entreated basic school teachers to imbibe patriotism in students at a tender age.
He said this while presenting a speech at a Pre-Independence parade organized by the SOS-Hermann Gmeiner International College in Tema.
According to Mr. Amenya, children are very likely to grow up abiding by what they are taught and there should be a conscious effort to make patriotism part of their syllabus.
“It is important to cultivate a sense of patriotism in children as they are the next generation going to take on the world in a few years to come. Patriotism allows one to feel attachment, passion and commitment to a country, nation, or political community.
“Patriotism creates an enabling environment for each of us to realize our individual dreams. Patriotism allows one to feel attachment, passion and commitment to a country, nation, or political community. There is joy and fulfilment in national service,” Mr. Amenya said.
He added: “Patriotism occurs in the simplest acts; a concern for our sanitary conditions, good maintenance culture, observance of the laws of Ghana, among others. Patriotism is everybody’s business. It depends on you and not any other more privileged person for Ghana to get beyond where we are today”.
As part of events to mark the company’s global month of purpose, staff of Herbalife Nutrition were posted to the SOS Children’s home in Tema to volunteer their time and knowledge in helping in organizing activities at the orphanage.
The Country Director for Herbalife Nutrition said the move was also to honor the founder of the company Mark Hughes.
