Former Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Cynthia Mamle Morrison, says she has deliberately chosen truth and integrity over gossip and political drama, emphasizing that her faith and eternal values matter far more than political power or influence.
Appearing on The Verdict with Isaac Addae on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, the former Agona West MP shared frank reflections on the darker side of Ghanaian politics and her resolve to stay clear of its toxicity.
“In politics, there’s a lot of gossip. That’s why I pray I won’t gossip about anyone,” she said. “If I have something to say, I’ll say it to your face not to insult you, but to be honest.”
She underscored that political relationships must be guided by truth and respect rather than manipulation or backbiting.
“At the end of the day, what is it? We’re all going to die and leave this earth. There’ll be no MP in heaven,” she added. “Heaven is what’s more important to me, so the nasty things people do in politics, me I won’t do.”
Mad. Morrison noted that no office, privilege, or political favor is worth the cost of losing one’s integrity, describing gossip and scheming as games she refuses to engage in.
“What are you going to do for me that I should do nasty?” she asked rhetorically.
